FAQ

What do you offer

We offer holidays and short breaks with a minimum duration of 2 nights and maximum of 31 nights throughout the year in beautiful York.

What are your booking conditions?

  • The maximum occupancy is 6 plus 1 infant
  • The lead guest must be 21 years or over
  • Hen or stag groups or parties are not permitted
  • Pets are not permitted

How do I book?

Bookings can be made instantly via the calendar on the bookings tab.  Approximate currency rates are available by clicking £ next to the total price.

How to pay?

We take payment via your credit/debit card using a secure payment system.  Upon booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the rental will be charged to secure your booking with the remaining 70% payable 6 weeks prior to your arrival.  If your booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival then the full amount is payable.  Please note that our preferred method of payment is via Mastercard or Visa. We now offer a guest login facility where you will be able to view your booking, add any extras you may require, and pay your balance.

What about damage to the apartment?

We ask for a £250 security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit/debit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. As long as you leave the apartment in the way you found it, we will release the payment to you.  Unfortunately, when things do need to be repaired or replaced we will have to recover our costs and you will be debited with the costs incurred.

What time is check-in and departure?

Check in is from 4.00 pm on your arrival day with check out strictly at 10.00 am on your departure day.  We are sorry if this does seem a little early but this allows us to ensure that the apartment is in an immaculate state for all our guests arrival.

What house rules are there?

For the benefit of our neighbours and all guests we would ask visitors to adhere to our house rules:

  • Strictly no smoking within the apartment or any other part of County House
  • We ask that children are not left unsupervised in the Minster room due to the mezzanine aspect of the room
  • Hen or stag groups or parties are not permitted
  • Our quiet hours are between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am - so please keep noise to a minimum during this time
  • No candles, incense or similar are permitted for safety reasons

Can you accommodate people with limited mobility?

We welcome all guests but as the apartment is within an historic building with stairs to enter it may be difficult for guests with limited mobility.  These include external steps and internal lobby steps to enter the building (these are actually quite shallow tread).  There is a lift from the lobby and within the apartment there is an ensuite bedroom, kitchen and lounge on the lower (entrance) floor which will assist those who are unable to climb stairs.

What facilities are available in the apartment?

We have prioritised the comfort of all our guests and have aimed to provide everything you'll need to have an enjoyable stay at Betty's Minster View.  Please have a look at our Amenities tab where you'll find a comprehensive list of what is available to you during your stay.  If you have any further questions, please do get in touch via email sharon@roseholidays.co.uk.

Are dogs welcome at Betty's Minster View?

We are sorry, but we are not able to welcome dogs or any other pets.

What about cancellations?

If you need to cancel your booking, we ask you to please notify us immediately. If we are able to re-let the apartment for your booking period at the price you have paid, only the non-refundable deposit will be retained. In the event that we can only re-let the property by offering a reduced price, we will refund the amount we have received from the new booking.  Otherwise a refund will not be possible.  If we need to cancel as the property is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control eg storm damage, Covid-19, we will notify you of the problem as soon as we can and a full refund will be made. We cannot accept responsibility for any further claims.  We advise you to take out holiday cancellation insurance.

What if my holiday is affected by the government's Covid-19 pandemic restrictions?

Unfortunately, this pandemic has caused major disruption to many areas of life but as it is now accepted that this is an illness that will remain in our community going forward it is no longer considered a special situation to render a refund.  We strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover any illness or other disruption to your stay.

What are you doing to prevent Covid-19 transmission between guests?

We continue to ensure that our properties are are thoroughly cleaned between guests.  You will find hand sanitiser as you enter the apartment.  Further measures may be necessary to ensure guests safety and we will keep abreast of developments.
