The Apartment
A 3 bedroom central holiday apartment located on the 2nd (top) floor of County House, a historic grade II listed building that has the appearance of a grand hotel from the outside and an impressive lobby as you enter. Access to the apartment is via a lift or the elegant wide sweeping staircase. It really does feel like a hotel experience but with the benefit of your own private space.
The kitchen and bathrooms have been completely renovated. We have ensured that the wonderful light, bright and airy elements of the apartment were retained and enhanced to create a space that is beautiful, calm and relaxing where guests can enjoy their stay whilst visiting the stunning city of York.
The apartment is spread over two floors.
The Lower Floor (entry level)
Lounge with stylish furnishings including a very comfortable sofa and chairs, smart TV with Netflix.
Kitchen/Dining Room with extremely well-equipped kitchen/diner providing a home from home experience. Includes an oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave oven and washer/dryer. There is a large table where you will be able to comfortably eat together. A high chair and bumper seat are provided for our younger guests.
Family Bathroom with bath and overhead shower, sink and toilet.
Master bedroom with very comfy super king bed or twin beds with hotel quality linen and towels. Furnished in an elegant navy blue and gold ‘30’s' style. Ensuite bathroom with shower cubicle, sink and toilet. This bedroom is located as you enter the apartment so is ideal for those guests with restricted mobility.
The Upper Floor
There are two bedrooms on the upper floor, each large and well furnished with very comfortable beds and hotel quality linen and towels.
Minster Bedroom with super king bed or twin beds and adorned with beautiful mid-century furniture pieces including a comfortable chair to relax and view the Minster. This has a mezzanine balcony which adds to the light and airy feel of the space. This is our favourite bedroom!
Third Bedroom with super king bed or twin room. This is a large bright bedroom decorated with modern Scandinavian style white and wood furniture to maintain the light airy feel.
External Facilities
A dedicated parking bay for one car is available in the secure gated car park.
Within the grounds there is a secure bicycle store for guests wishing to bring their own bikes.
Nearby Conveniences
We are fortunate to have a Sainsbury's supermarket directly behind the building which is very convenient for food shopping. Just a short distance further on, you'll find other supermarkets including Morrisons (with fuel station), Asda and Waitrose. A Halfords, Majestic Wines as well as many other large chain stores are a short walk away.
For guests who prefer to eat out we have many restaurants and cafe's within a very short distance.
